As a guest of the Rustler Lodge, your safety and security are our #1 priority. We are dedicated to providing a safe, healthy environment for us all in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. In addition, we are pleased to announce that we have obtained certification from Respro meeting EPA, CDC, and the Utah Department of Health safety guidelines.

While we’ll be maintaining physical distance in our exchanges, know that we are happy to continue doing what we do best – hosting and serving you as well as providing a space for friends and loved ones to connect and come together.

We want to bring to your attention a few new features we are offering this year:

  • For online schooling and working remotely, we have increased the bandwidth of our complimentary wireless internet to help with distance learning and virtual meetings.
  • Throughout the pandemic, we are also excited to inform you that we will be offering Complimentary Room Service during meal hours for those of you who would prefer to eat in your room.
  • Due to capacity challenges, we are extending our pool hours two hours earlier and one hour later (1-8pm) to make your stay even more relaxing.

General Lodge & Public Spaces

Accommodations at Alta's Rustler Lodge
  • We are going above and beyond expected protocols to include the use of broad-spectrum disinfectant products approved by the EPA, CDC and the Utah State Health Department specifically designed for use against viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens.
  • Each guest is provided with a complimentary “Welcome Safety Kit” which includes disposable masks, hand sanitizer, water bottles, sanitizing wipes, facial tissues and Rustler lanyard. Additional items, including masks and hand sanitizer, may be purchased at the front desk.
  • We have hired a COVID Custodial Team to increase the frequency of public area cleaning, with particular attention to high-touch areas.
  • Numerous contactless hand-sanitizing stations and disinfecting anti-viral wipe dispensers have been installed throughout the Rustler’s public areas for everyone’s use.
  • Signage and floor decals have been placed throughout the Rustler to remind everyone to wear masks, maintain physical distance, and follow all COVID prevention guidelines.
  • Plexiglass partitions have been placed in frequently used locations, including the front desk, the dining room host stand, and the spa reception desk.
  • The seating in public areas, lounge, and dining room have been re-arranged to accommodate safe distancing of 6’ apart.
  • For online schooling and working remotely, we have increased the bandwidth of our complimentary wireless internet to help with distance learning and virtual meetings.

Guest Rooms

Amenities & Spa at Alta's Rustler Lodge
  • Along with our COVID Custodial team, we are enhancing our cleaning and sanitation protocols for all of our guest rooms utilizing new cleaning technologies such as electrostatic foggers. These products and protocols meet EPA, CDC and the Utah State Health Department guidelines and are approved for use against emerging viral pathogens.
  • Of course, daily maid and turndown service will continue, but you can always opt out based on your comfort level.
  • If service is declined by the guest, fresh towels and linens as well as cleaning products are available upon request from the front desk.
  • Due to the pandemic, Keurig® machines are now provided in each guest room. Complimentary coffee and tea are available in the Rustler Lodge lounge as well.

Dining & Bar

  • You will notice some changes to our services prioritizing your safety, but we are committed to offering the same great menus and social atmosphere you have come to expect at the Rustler.
  • We have arranged the spacing of tables and chairs to achieve proper physical distancing.
  • Between meal services, we are increasing our cleaning and sanitation protocols to include the use of electrostatic foggers.
  • We hope that guests will make breakfast and dinner reservations in advance and are prompt for their reservations.
  • Based on current health department recommendations as of August 2020, party sizes will be limited to groups of 10.
  • Throughout the pandemic, we are also excited to inform you that we will be offering Complimentary Room Service during meal hours for those of you who would prefer to eat in your room.

Services & Amenities

Alta Ski Area & Snowbird Ski Resort
  • Additional cleaning and safety measures are in place that reflect recommended EPA, CDC, and Utah State Health Department guidelines for health and sanitation throughout the lodge.
  • The Fitness Center is open daily from 7:00 AM – 10 PM, access is first-come, first-served with a limit of five guests at a time. We request that in addition to our increased cleaning efforts, guests wipe down the equipment before and after use with available anti-viral wipes provided by the lodge.
  • The Rustler Pool is open daily from 1:00 – 8:00 PM and capacity will be limited according to current state and local guidelines.
  • Jacuzzi’s are open daily 7:00AM – 8:00PM and capacity will be limited according to current state and local guidelines.
  • Reservations for the Rustler Spa must be made in advance for service. We will be disinfecting spa rooms between each appointment.
  • Unfortunately, Steam Room and Sauna are temporarily closed due to current guidelines.
  • The Rustler Powder House full-service ski shop encourages you to make online reservations for your ski equipment prior to your arrival. Occupancy in the ski shop will be limited to allow for physical distancing.
  • Early morning stretch class with Julie will be offered in-person and with a virtual option.
  • Our complimentary shuttle throughout Alta and Snowbird will be sanitized after each ride.

What we are requiring from our employees:

  • Upon arrival for each shift, all employees will go through a wellness screening. This will include observation for overt symptoms, taking each person’s temperature with a no-touch infrared thermometer and checking blood oxygen levels. Employees will be required to alert management if feeling unwell.
  • All employees will complete COVID-19 specific training in addition to the already required ServSafe Food Handler, Alcohol, and Manager programs.
  • Employees will be required to wear a face mask covering their nose and mouth in public areas and gloves when appropriate.
  • Employees will wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

What we are asking from our guests:

  • Upon arrival to the Rustler all guests, will go through a wellness screening. This will include observation for overt symptoms, taking each person’s temperature with a no-touch infrared thermometer and checking blood oxygen levels.
  • Please bring several masks; we will ask that you change your traveling mask to a clean mask upon arrival to the lodge. We will be requiring all guests to wear face masks while on the Rustler property in all shared common areas.
  • Please comply with posted signage including recommended physical distance guidelines.
  • We ask that guests make breakfast and dinner reservations in advance and are prompt for meal reservations.
  • Contact the front desk for luggage removal and place items near the door to allow for social distancing.
